The Parish Council is pleased to welcome Jo Appleby as the newly appointed KCC Community Warden for Wilmington. Jo's role as a Community Warden is to -
  • support the elderly and vulnerable and work with communities to foster a sense of cohesion and wellbeing
  • equip residents to prevent, and recover from, being victims of scams and rogue traders
  • address low-level crime and anti=social behaviour through deterrence, prevention and by working in close partnership with Trading Standards and Kent police
  • support communities during challenging periods, striving to help those in need during a pandemic or providing relief support after flooding
  • support the elderly and vulnerable and help residents navigate services by working with numerous partners from residents charities to other council-run services
Jo's working hours are from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday with her 'Patch' covering not only Wilmington but also Darenth and Hawley.
Jo is keen to be involved in the community and can already be seen walking around the village so, if you see her, please stop to say 'hello' and make her feel welcome.
