Please note that Jo Appleton, Wilmington's Community Warden will be holding a Surgery at Hawley Garden Centre on Friday 16th May.

Jo's role as a Community Warden is to -

  • support the elderly and vulnerable and work with communities to foster a sense of cohesion and wellbeing
  • equip residents to prevent, and recover from, being victims of scams and rogue traders
  • address low-level crime and anti=social behaviour through deterrence, prevention and by working in close partnership with Trading Standards and Kent police
  • support communities during challenging periods, striving to help those in need during a pandemic or providing relief support after flooding
  • support the elderly and vulnerable and help residents navigate services by working with numerous partners from residents charities to other council-run services
If you have any issues or concerns in any of the above matters Jo will be available to offer support or advice between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

Jo will be joined by Jo Harfleet, Kent Fire and Rescue Service's Community Liaison Officer.
