A few weeks ago the Parish Council was approached by Valley Provincial to ask if the Council would be interested in the Company's employees carrying out a litter-pick in the Parish as part of its 'Pick It-Bag It-Bin It' Campaign

The published aim of the campaign being to 'provide a benefit to local communities and help improve the enviroment on its doorstep'.

The Council readily accepted the offer and, as a result, the Village Centre was today invaded by a group of people armed with litter-picks and bags. At the end of the morning, not only had 13 bags of rubbish been collected but some of the street furniture and signs had been cleaned.

The Parish Council firstly thanks Valley Provincial, based in Shirehall Road, for its commirment to the community and secondly to those employees who participated in the litter-pick for a task very well done.

Please note that the Council's 'Autumn Big Clean' which was due to take place tomorrow (21st September) will now be held on Saturdy 19th October - details will be published on the Parish's website and noticeboards.
