Works are underway in Oakfield Park, to deliver a commemorative Orchard in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
Fruit saplings will be planted next week, in conjunction with wildflowers in the coming months.
The scheme has been delivered in connection with Dartford Borough Council’s Nature Networks initiative, where wildflower meadows and orchards have been planted at popular parks across the borough.
We hope that the meadow will create a vital habitat for wildlife to flourish while also benefitting the wider environment and local people’s wellbeing.
