We know this will come as a disappointment to many and it is with regret that the Parish Council has been advised by our external inspectors to decommission the Tyre Swing in Oakfield Park.

The Parish Council are undergoing a full evaluation of all play equipment situated within Oakfield Park, to include the Nature Trail, which may result in the removal of some parts of the trail.

Wilmington Parish Council seeks to provide equipment that supports the minds, imagination and good health of our park users.

Following the current playground review, the council are committed to delivering a replacement programme and will update you as we move through this process.

Chair Cllr Brown said 'Oakfield Park remains a jewel in the Parish crown, used by residents of all ages and for many differing purposes. It’s important that the Park remains a place of natural beauty, alongside enhancing the experiences that it has to offer’

As we look to gather together plans for the future, if you have any experiences, ideas or comments please send them to the Parish Clerk by email to clerk-wpc@outlook.com
