Residents will remember that some weeks ago a framed vehicle advertising a Hire Company based in Sittingbourne was parked on the High Road bridge over the A2. Following highway safety concerns raised by residents and having ascertained that it was against the law to advertise on a motorway/trunk road bridge the Chairman, Councillor Stacey Brown sought the involvement of Dartford Borough Councillor George Holt.

Thanks to Councillor Holt and the actions of the Enforcement Team at Dartford Borough Council in taking the matter through the required legal processes the framed vehicle left the site and has not, to date, returned.

In her note of thanks to Councillor Holt and the Dartford Borough Council Officers, Councillor Mrs Brown said ‘I am sincerely grateful you have taken the time to respond to our raising this illegal offence and also, very pleasing, is the successful and affirmative action taken on this matter. Residents will be comforted by your swift actions in accordance with the law governing the offence’.
